Announcing: 2023 Fall Show Schedule

Jeff Lung 2023 Art Show Schedule

While I do my best to stand firm in my self realization of being a working artist, I am human after all, and humans have the tendency to seek validation from others to bank self-worth. Without that, the path can be quite dark at times. Me, I’m not too needy. I don’t need a lot of attention. But I do look for signs that I’m not delusional.

So that’s why I’m elated to share my upcoming fall show schedule! That’s right! While this summer has been full of rejection notices and waitlist announcements, it’s also had a fair share of exciting acceptance letters! And I am beyond pumped for what’s to come!

Here’s a quick breakdown of the lineup…

BAM! Art Market
August 12, 2023
Houston, TX

Kicking things off with some indoor, air-conditioned action in Houston! This BAM! Art Market will bring some of Houston’s best and brightest all under one, climate-controlled roof. I’ve also heard rumors that there might be chocolate! Can’t wait to see you there!

Arts Spectacular at the Carillon
September 9-10, 2023
Springfield, IL

Growing up in central Illinois, I still have a lot of friends and family who live in and near Springfield, so I look forward to reconnecting with them at the two-day Arts Spectacular at the Carillon while also bringing my art back home for a fantastic show!

Arts in Central Park
September 15-17, 2023
Decatur, IL

If one show back home is good, then two is even better! Can’t make it to the Springfield event? The following weekend I’ll be in nearby Decatur for the annual Arts in Central Park show, another great spot to take in the local art scene and see what other far-off travelers (like myself) may roll through.

Bayou City Art Festival
October 14-15, 2023
Houston, TX

Out of all the shows I applied to for this year, the Bayou City Art Festival in downtown Houston was my number one hope. If only I could get into that event I could show Houston what I can do… Having already been rejected by several other shows on the same level as Bayou, I didn’t have much faith.

And then I did.

Receiving my acceptance notice from the Bayou made me feel like a kid at Christmas! I was beyond overjoyed. I was validated as a real artist. It made me feel like all the sacrifices I’ve made to start a new life with a new career in a new place have all been worth it. It made me feel like I am on the right path.

Just… gotta… keep… going…

The Woodlands Pride Festival
October 21, 2023
The Woodlands, TX

Rounding out the fall circuit is the Woodlands Pride Festival on October 21. The Pride community is full of avantgarde art collectors and connoisseurs with eccentric tastes, so I look forward to participating in this event for the first time and perhaps finding a new collector or ten!

While the above is a lineup of the larger art festivals I’ll be working this fall, I will still be active in and around the Houston area with regular showings at the Ardest Gallery (The Woodlands) and the Madeley Gallery (Conroe Art League). More to come on all of that, but in the meantime, come see me this fall and consider adding a piece to your collection!
