Artist. Fulbright scholar. Trilingual urban wanderer with a pen.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese, Jeff Lung creates whimsical geometric playgrounds for the eye—images within images, stories within lines. A self-taught artist driven by a lifelong obsession with filling empty spaces, his work blends figurative abstraction with bold pattern, movement, and emotion. Whether embedding words into faces or shaping visual riddles from rhythmic forms, Jeff invites viewers to pause, puzzle, and play.
Born in Quincy, Illinois, Jeff has lived and created across the globe—from Madrid to Beijing, L.A. to Chicago—drawing influence from M.C. Escher, Alex Grey, Salvador Dalí, J.S. Bach, comic books, and the Wu-Tang Clan. His artwork reflects his love of patterns, puzzles, and the poetry of motion—often focusing on the human figure in all its expressive energy.
When he’s not drawing, Jeff can be found running trails, cycling backroads, or laughing in the front row of a comedy show. He now splits his time between central Illinois and south Texas, chasing shapes, filling empty spaces.
