Say Hello to “Dre Tha Barber”

BAM! Comin’ rightacha! Say hello to “Dre Tha Barber” an artwork I was commissioned to produce recently. If this painting could talk it’d scream LET’S GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I was approached by Dre’s aunt to create a special piece that would celebrate his graduation from barber school while also bringing a bit of flare and energy to the shop where he’d be cutting. She provided me with an awesome reference photo of Dre with his barber gear — a piece of art in its own right — and the freedom to abstract the forms into wild, exciting shapes. In choosing the color scheme, we went with University of North Carolina colors to reflect his allegiance, and when I put it all together, it came out a’roarin!

I had such a blast creating this piece and it is my hope that it serves as inspiration in Dre’s career moving forward and that every time he looks at it he gets a boost of confidence to keep doing what he does best!
