You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun”

Recently I was reminded that I can’t wait to solve all my problems to find happiness. One cannot expect to take care of all of the things and THEN suddenly — MIRACULAOUSLY — find happiness. Like, voila, it’ll be there, as long as I do XYZ.

No. Life doesn’t work that way.

There is always something.

There will ALWAYS be something.

The key to happiness is acceptance of all of the things while you’re in the middle of them. To be grateful. To embrace the struggle. To move forward despite the obstacles. Change what you can. Leave what must be left.

The struggle is where we define ourselves. And though it sucks at times, it’s all we really have. The past is gone. The future hasn’t happened yet.

All we have is now.

Enjoy it while you can.

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death”

-Pink Floyd, Time
